We often forget that Yeshua (Jesus the Christ) is Jewish. His heritage, linage and his culture are all Jewish. The first believers were all Jews. The 3000 on the day of Pentecost were most likely all Jews. The twelve disciples were Jews. It was a very unfortunate thing when the early gentile Converts eliminated the Jewish traditions of the Word and its relationship to our beliefs! I am saddened by the lost, it is a travesty. We lose much of the richness and understanding of our faith by rejecting the history and culture of our Jewish heritage. You will not fully understand much of the scripture without knowing it from a Jewish perspective. By the fourth century the true New Testament church was nonexistent. I will try and answer why the rejection of Jewish heritage and tradition was eliminated in the chapter on the History of the Church.
